I bought this for my sister for Christmas. She loves travel and geography. I wanted a map that would look classy in her new home, and this one served well. I really liked it, and so did she!

I ordered the black solid wood framed poster which arrived broken to pieces. I contacted customer service and they promptly sent me a new one. Dealing with the company was easy and they were very apologetic. Unfortunately, I received a second broken frame. Bottom line, it's not "solid wood" as they advertise. It is poor quality particle board that can barely support it's own weight. Both times it was packaged correctly and should have had enough protection in the box, but didn't.

I would order posters from this merchant again, but definitely not a frame.

This map looks great! I purchased it to pin to a cork board and then use map tacks to mark the places I've been. Unfortunately I misunderstood and thought it would fit in a 24 x 36 frame so I had to cut the edges down (nearly cut Hawaii completely off the map!). Yes, the map is glossy but just a normal gloss, nothing too crazy. It serves its purpose well.
